Delight in these creamy strawberry truffles that melt in your mouth. Made with white chocolate, butter, and cream, infused with strawberry and vanilla extracts, and coated with powdered sugar for a sweet finish. Perfect for a luscious homemade treat.

Ingredients

For the Truffle Base

  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 drop pink food coloring (optional)

For Coating the Truffles

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Melt the Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl until smooth and fully melted.
  2. Prepare Cream Mixture: In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter and stir in the heavy cream, gently simmering for about 2 minutes.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the hot butter and cream mixture over the melted white chocolate and let it sit for 1 to 2 minutes to soften the chocolate.
  4. Add Flavors: Add strawberry extract, vanilla extract, and optional pink food coloring, then whisk until smooth. Reheat in 10-second increments if necessary to keep mixture fluid.
  5. Chill: Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour until the mixture is firm enough to handle.
  6. Form Truffles: Use a cookie scoop to portion 1 to 1.5 tablespoons of mixture and roll into balls. Place the balls onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Coat and Set: Roll each truffle ball in powdered sugar until evenly coated. Refrigerate again for 1 hour to set completely.

Notes

  • Substitute white chocolate with milk or dark chocolate if preferred.
  • Dairy-free butter and heavy cream alternatives can be used for a vegan version.
  • Raspberry or cherry extract can replace strawberry extract for a different fruity flavor.
  • Pink food coloring is optional and only used for visual appeal.
  • Roll truffles in cocoa powder or crushed nuts as a tasty alternative coating.
  • Use a cookie scoop for uniform truffle sizes to ensure even chilling and setting.
