This Spiderweb Taco Dip is a festive and flavorful appetizer perfect for parties and gatherings. Layers of refried beans, seasoned cream cheese, and a decorative sour cream spiderweb make it both delicious and visually striking. Optional toppings like cheddar cheese, black olives, and cilantro add extra flavor and texture.

Ingredients

For the Dip

  • 1 package cream cheese softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can refried beans 16 ounce

For the Spiderweb

  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning

Optional Toppings

  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Mix the base dip: In a medium bowl, combine softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, and 1 packet of taco seasoning until smooth and well blended.
  2. Layer refried beans: Spread the entire can of refried beans evenly over the bottom of a serving dish to form the first layer.
  3. Add cream cheese mixture: Spread the prepared cream cheese mixture evenly over the layer of refried beans.
  4. Prepare spiderweb topping: In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup sour cream and 1 tablespoon taco seasoning. Transfer this mixture into a piping bag or plastic bag with a small corner cut off.
  5. Create spiderweb pattern: Pipe concentric circles of the sour cream mixture on top of the dip, starting from the center and working outward.
  6. Draw spiderweb lines: Using a toothpick or skewer, drag lines from the center of the circles outward to the edges, creating a spiderweb effect.
  7. Add optional toppings: Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese, sliced black olives, and chopped cilantro over the dip as desired.
  8. Serve immediately: Present with your favorite tortilla chips or crackers for dipping.

Notes

  • For best results, soften cream cheese to room temperature before mixing to ensure a smooth dip.
  • You can substitute the taco seasoning with your preferred brand or make homemade for a fresher taste.
  • Feel free to add jalapeños or diced tomatoes on top for an extra kick.
  • This dip is best served fresh but can be refrigerated for up to 2 days; let it come to room temperature before serving.
  • Use a stiff plastic bag if a piping bag is not available for creating the spiderweb.
